As our understanding of community needs grows and evolves, the services we provide will expand. Our current services include:
Building Greened Communities - Building communities that provide for the needs of the residents that are greened with indigenous trees and plants that provide greening within the community and also serve as food sources.
Community Capacity Building - Strengthening the knowledge, abilities, skills and behaviour of individuals within the community to improve structures and processes so that the communities can efficiently meet their goals and aspirations in a sustainable way while managing limited resources.
Coping and Support Skills – Training within the community to provide coping skills for social workers and members of the community supporting other members of the community. This includes coping and support skills for children whose parents or heads of the household are HIV/AIDS positive and do not have the necessary support for their family members.
ECD (Early Childhood Development) - Programs that support and foster self-respect, indigenous cultural learning, critical thinking and problem solving, collaboration, networking, adaptability, initiative, communication skills, analytical skills that drive curiosity and imagination.
Education – Courses that enable people to identify opportunities to support and grow within their community and learn critical skills, not educate to qualify them to leave the community.
Embracing Community - Providing the skills and support structures to enable the members of the community to cope, nurture, grow and thrive. Our communities embrace individuals irrespective of their health status, history, sex, belief system or sexual orientation.
Food Sources - Working with the community to provide training and a model that enables and supports the establishment of micro and community-gardens established around small business-enterprise models that provide foods for the individual, the family and the community that are culturally and indigenously acceptable.
Leadership Training - Creating leadership within the community to support and mentor all members of the community.
Mentoring - Promoting sustainable practices that support collaboration and skills creation within the community. We work hands on and hand-in-hand with communities to establish and grow support groups at all levels.
Small Business Services - Providing opportunities for members of the community to learn the skills to establish, run and grow their own community-based small business. We provide the services and support to grow these into an enterprise that provides for and supports the needs of the community and neighbouring communities. Resources available include small business loans, communications, group marketing, business tools access, training and education.
Small Business Loan Program - Providing a hybrid loan program that supports the creation of independent small to medium businesses that can thrive and do not become dependent on the loan program to survive. The program will build in options and a mentoring program that encourages business owners to support each other, the establishment of further community-based businesses and their community itself.
Sustainable Business Growth – Once a business has been established, a portion of the cash flow generated will be used to support the establishment of further small business. This process enables the people that start the first businesses in the community to truly become the community’s change agents.
Training – Creating an environment that is safe enough to enable individuals to ask questions and develop programs that foster critical thinking, problem solving, collaboration, adaptability and initiative. Communication and analytical skills drive curiosity and imagination, so participants learn to leverage the information and resources they have and support sustainable community businesses.
