Things are starting to happen in a BIG way at GirlStuff.Period, in South Africa. With the assistance of our donors and supporters we have made progress in the setting up of the business, equipment purchases and we are participating in the Lunapads.com and AFRIPads #Pads4Oprah campaign. See the details below. The My Arms Wide Open® team works as a volunteer organization supporting the causes and the initiatives identified by the communities themselves that we are invited into. Without the financial support that each of you, our donors, provide our work would be that much more difficult and we would have to wait to assist the people we do. The support for our Global initiative, My World In a Garden® - Sister Walls has been simply wonderful. We have support coming in from all directions and the movement is growing, thanks in large part to our 'early adopters and supporters' on the GlobalGiving.org network. A BIG 'Thank you!' for your unwavering and generous support for each of the My Arms Wide Open® community initiatives. The My Arms Wide Open® team works as a volunteer and collaborative organization supporting the causes and the initiatives identified by the communities themselves that we are invited into. Without the financial and in-kind support that each of you, our donors and our corporate collaborators, provide our work would be that much more difficult and we would have to wait to assist the people we do. I've learned that it is possible
My name is Lundi. I remember meeting Warren and his team in the beginning of 2011 and learning about the program they where going to run, Iziko Labahlali. This was not the first time it was being run in Cradock and it was good to be able to talk to people who had done the program. They seemed different. They talked differently. I remember thinking that I wanted to find out why. I entered the program in March and at first I listened and watched as people spoke and expressed themselves through their art, their words, and their emotions. It started to feel comfortable, safe. I started to participate. I was alone in Cradock through my own choice, far away from my wife and my children. Suddenly, I felt open to changing that.

Connecting the dots... enabling development from within
Our family, Bergnek: What has become evident as we work in communities is that we must work alongside community from within and we must support and create continuity with each step we take building upon the previous one. In many communities, they have seen people and organizations come and go, but they see very few that come back. Each time we return, we are greeted with a smile and "You came back!?". In creating trust, we create hope and our hope and belief is that each of the communities we work with are a part of our family. A family that works and grows, together. A family that always 'comes back'.
